Henry Bonner
1st African-American county agent

Henry Bonner was the first Black to serve as county agent with the Agriculture Department.

He dedicated most of his life to improving the health and safety of the Monroe community, especially the African American community.

Bonner served a lengthy term as a member of and eventually the president of the Board of Directors of the Monroe Housing Authority and president of the local Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.
